Style.com is one of my daily stops on my morning blogroll and Editor Marina Larroudé’s Summer 2011 Shopping Guide reminded me that I really need to get some summer basics together. The city is all of sudden eighty degrees and I still have yet to find a pair of flat sandals to replace my favorite but now beat up Lanvins from last summer. Style.com’s guide also had me curious as to what Marina’s own picks were for Summer – she has the best style. Regularly photographed on the all of the go-to street style blogs, she always looks impeccably chic and when I see her it invariably begins with the question of “Where did you get that?.” She knows how to mix designer brands so well with high street brands that her answer is surprising when she simply tells me J.Crew or Topshop. So I asked Marina what her top three picks were for Summer, here’s what she said:
“I'm very into a mirrored shade at the moment. The coolest ones I found are these Oliver People's. It's super light, gold mirrored and it gives a fresh summer look to any outfit, even if I'm wearing a suit!”
“Equipment silk shirts is always a staple in my wardrobe. They are now doing them in the most unique prints, it's even harder to resist. So great to take on a holiday. You can wear it over a bikini as a cover up or to a dinner date.”
“Current Elliott colored cut offs. I love wearing cut offs during the weekend but this summer I'm updating my look with these great colored cut offs from Current Elliott. It comes in every color you can possible imagine and the fit is amazing!”
Glad I asked, I'm loving the idea of bright red-orange shorts.
