An Afternoon In
AN AFTERNOON IN: ST. GERMAIN, PART ONE
Continuing on from my last post about Paris,
Some of the places we visited in St. Germain with photos and drawings from my travel sketchbook,
the souvenirs and addresses I collected...
46, rue du Bac
/ The kind of store with floorboards that creak under your feet. I wanted to take home a butterfly but was afraid of crushing it in my suitcase, so I got a pack of Les Papillons Playing Cards instead.
172, Boulevard Saint-Germain
/ Everyone was right.
8, rue de Cherch Midi
/ Everyone was right about this, too.
76, rue de Seine
/ Another incredible bakery.
66, rue Rennes
/ If you're going to ever buy a striped shirt, might as well do it here. I picked the
, the fabric is lighter and the shirt is more fitted than their traditional style.
51, rue du Four
/ And if you're ever going to get ballet flats, might as well be from the wall with the sliding gold ladder.
26, rue du Four
/ A discount beauty store where you can stock up on French beauty brands like Embryolisse or La Roche-Posay for way cheap. You definitely won't leave empty handed, you've been warned.
JARDIN DU LUXEMBOURG
rue de Vaugirard
9, rue Madame
/ There were no flowers in bloom at the Jardin Du Luxembourg, so this shop made up for it. With dark black gray walls and elegant taxidermy, this is the most beautiful flower shop I've ever been in.
/ At night, the lions come out.
AS MENTIONED PREVIOUSLY,
16, rue de Grenelle
/ Where I got
, good times.
38, rue Madame
72, rue Bonaparte
/ Especially loved the gold dust on everything.
L'EPICERIE d'OLIVIER PITOU
34, rue Saints Pères
/ Wish I was still around the corner from here.
18, rue du Bac
/ That's the only problem, too many incredible bakeries.
I'll be doing a separate post on the other half of the 6e,
then the list of different restaurants we ate at, bars we had drinks at,
galleries, museums, bookstores
and all of the other things I saw around Paris!
