Let it sink down

The last of my little NYFW Bumble and Bumble hair series, some pictures I took at the Karen Walker Fall 2012 Show. Instead of approaching the collections overall theme of Jules Verne too literally, lead Hairstylist Laurent Phillippon transformed the hair into its own mythic proportion. With half up half down slicked back feminine 50's style pompadours, pretty young things took on the form of a rock n' roll creature, one that's more akin to listening to 2000 Light Years From Home than being 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.

I wish I could be one of those girls that could get away with having this kind of hairstyle, if you're that kind of girl here is how to do it...

1. With a blow dryer, smooth hair out into sections and work Bumble and Bumble thickening spray into dry hair.

2. Back comb the front of the hair. Smooth sides down behind ear and hold with a clip. Continue to back comb top portion of hair into a pompadour shape. Lift and spray Bumble and Bumble Spray de Mode at the roots for hold. Remove clips and continue to spray down on the sides and generously all over.

3.  To make the style seem a little more worn in (and a neat little trick that would work for any hairstyle), finger separate sections of the hair using some Bumble and Bumble Styling Wax with a dose of Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder on top for the finishing touch.

Don't forget your light pink sunnies.
