You Speak Shellfish
ANNIEShe moves hurriedly across the kitchen and picks up another lobster. Smiling, she places it on the counter as Alvy stands beside the refrigerator trying to push it from the wall.
ALVY "Annie, there's a big lobster behind the refrigerator. I can't get it out. This thing's heavy. Maybe if I put a little dish of butter sauce here with a nutcracker, it will run out the other side, you know what I mean?"
Enjoying the last rounds of warm weather cooking - am going to miss having that selection of fresh colorful heirloom tomatoes, watermelon, peaches, sweet corn and summer squash at the markets. We did our last kitchen clambake last week, which had become one of our favorite end of the week dinners to make. We'd get all of our ingredients from Chelsea Market's The Lobster Place, grab a six-pack of beer and cover the dining table with paper. Lobster wrangling à la Annie Hall, the first time we tried this the poor things broke through the paper bag onto the floor and of course screaming ensued. Once you get the hang of the preparation, it becomes so easy - the best of summer in one pot.
